Perfectionism raises it's head and snarls
Detail, "Brown Encrusting Octopus Sponge" . Well, I couldn't do it, just blob blob blob globs of paint. I'll finish this one tonight. The peek-a-boo fish is either an Ocean Surgeon fish, or a Doctor fish. Can't tell from the photo.
I'm going to dive the Fredricksted Pier in a little while. The camera's battery is charging. OK.
Welcome to my discussion and photos of Life found in the Caribbean Sea and the reef surroundind my Island home, Saint Croix, United States Virgin Islands.

I wish it was easier. The coral reef is amazing, and hidden from view unless you dive. I struggle to paint, instead of letting the little details of life bog me down.
The tiny yellow fish will be a plain dark brown when he grows up.
Defending Damsel
The little Damsel fish is very protective of the garden he grows, and will try to chase you away!
Peeking Red Hind
Some fish hide and peek at you from a safe place. Others just swim merrily on by.
Pink Sponge with Orange Seahorse
Seahorses tuck in their chin when they see you looking at them.
Descending Wrass
Fishes don't always swim in a straight line!
Beautiful Valley
This is an overhanging coral formation.
Redstripe Parrotfish
The Redstripe Parrotfish can vary tremendously in color. Sometimes paler, and sometimes even totally green with red fins, but the red stripe along the jaw is always present.
Yellowfin Grouper
This Grouper was peeking at me from behind the blue Creole Wrasses swimming by.
