But I have seen a few not-so-old paintings that were peeling and cracking. Sad.

I've had to learn all this on my own. The book about artist's materials was recommended in college, but no instructor has taught me anything out of the book.

I feel my work is so unique that I should make it as high quality as possible. Maybe they're not on the www, but I google trying to find artists doing coral scenery paintings, and haven't found one yet that's not all blobs of abstract paint. It's taken me thirty years to get to the point that I have the ability to do the paintings, as the 'machinery' behind the scenes is so expensive. The diving, photography, studio, and etc.

Prints? No, I don't have enough work done, and I'm not going commecial yet.

I decided I must FINISH fifty paintings this year, then try to find someone to do the business end. I stuff some dollars in my pocket for lunch, I have no training for invoices, contracts, spread sheets and etc.

OK, I'm a Rat! This is my year! Happy Chinese New Year!

Cheers, and thanks for stopping by!

MelissaMelissa Evangeline Keyeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06414199867126164752noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7880014167728169881.post-40852084140139195952008-02-07T11:26:00.001-04:002008-02-07T11:26:00.001-04:00I didn't know you painters were talking about arch...I didn't know you painters were talking about archival qualities in paints, but it doesn't surprize me. The talk in photography and printing is all about archival inks and paper combinations so that an image will last 200+ years. Makes even more sense to paint with long lasting paints, I suppose, since there's no way to reproduce a painting execpt to paint another. Do you ever make prints of your paintings?Con Dailyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04021263460305204709noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7880014167728169881.post-65338072927104247392008-02-07T11:26:00.000-04:002008-02-07T11:26:00.000-04:00I didn't know you painters were talking about arch...I didn't know you painters were talking about archival qualities in paints, but it doesn't surprize me.
